Individual Counseling: Cognitive Therapy & Schema Therapy
Short-Term Cognitive Therapy is a highly effective approach that has been proven to be successful in treating a wide variety of psychological difficulties, such as high anxiety/stress, panic attacks, depression, anger, relationship problems, phobias, worry, obsessions, compulsions, addictions (food, drugs, etc.), social anxiety, sexual problems, and low self-esteem. The course of treatment is typically focused and short-term (approximately 10-20 sessions), and people often enjoy rapid and enduring relief from their symptoms. Cognitive Therapists are active in the session, and will collaborate with you in addressing your treatment needs and goals.
In Schema-Focused Cognitive Therapy, the therapist is also actively involved, and applies a variety of methods to help you to identify and break long-standing patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Through the course of treatment, you learn to replace the old negative patterns with new, healthier alternatives on these levels. Remarkable results have been achieved via the Schema-Focused approach, even for people who have previously found other therapies to be insufficient.
